The Well Stocked Pantry

Last week I was in Washington for the Mathews Family Reunion. I was discussing with some of my cousins how tiresome cooking the same meals over and over can be, not to mention grocery shopping with children, or after a long day when kids are in bed, or in my case after long hours at work. My mom is a pro at this kind of thing. I call her house Walmart as she always has anything you can think of, plus some, in stock. A few years ago she came up with a Well Stocked Kitchen list. I suppose I shoud get up now.

Today I will:

  • make a baby quilt

  • do laundry
  • clean bathrooms
  • go to stake conference
  • see Julie & Julia

I should start by getting out of bed.

Absence Makes The Heart Grow Fonder

At least that is what the fat chicken in the animated Robin Hood says.
I have been reminded that I need to write the happenings of my life down because the majority of my family is oh so far away. Then the questions rises, "What does one blog about when there are no children to post pictures of, no funny stories of children, & very little crafting goes on at my house?" I still do not know the answer, but I will try my best to be a faithful blogger anyways. I believe it was Meg Ryan in You've Got Mail who says that she enjoys that her writing goes out into the cosmic void, in hopes that someone will find it. That is my hope as well.

I went to Hawaii...

and I snorkeled, got rained on, went boogie boarding, got rained on, had shaved ice, went to a luau, got rained on, stepped on an octopus, got rained on, drove a jeep, and loved every minute of it.
